About Auction
The Fine Print: Bidding Rules & Procedures
You must be 18 years of age or older to place a bid.
If you see something you wish to bid on during The KIXE Auction call 530-243-5493. One of our volunteer operators will answer your call. To make a bid, give the item number and on-air title.
Bidding increases are:
$0 to 100 - $5
$101 to $999 - $10
$1000 and up - $50
You also may pre-bid on our website KIXE.org up to 1 hour before the start of the televised auction. No on-line bids are accepted after that time.
When you place your maximum bid (reserve), it is advisable to bid as high as you are willing to go. Remember this is a live auction and other bids will be phoned in during the sale of the item on air.
Once you place your bid, you must hang up. If at any point you wish to increase your bid, please call again and place another bid. Exceptions to this rule are items which are being sold one at a time.
Successful bids will be confirmed by telephone shortly after the on-air announcement of sale. KIXE reserves the right to dispose of the property in a manner it deems appropriate if the successful bidder or authorized representative cannot be reached by telephone within a reasonable period of the announcement of sale on air. Either you or a representative must be reachable by phone at the time of sale announcement in order to complete the sale.
A winning bid is only the confirmed high bid when a KIXE representative has spoken directly to confirm this with the high bidder. Voicemail messages are not a confirmation of high bid.
In the case of duplicate bids the earliest bid received will be the one accepted.
KIXE reserves the right to withdraw any item at any time before the exchange of legal tender.
KIXE reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. The highest bidder acknowledged by KIXE shall be the purchaser. In the event of any doubt on the part of KIXE as to the validity of any bid, KIXE shall have the sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder. If any dispute arises after the sale, the KIXE sale record shall be conclusive in all respects.
Pre-Bidding
You can preview and pre-bid select items online at www.kixe.org. Your bid is a commitment to purchase the item at that amount should it be the highest bid. You will not have an opportunity to purchase the item for less than your bid amount.
Once pre-bidding has ended, for our televised auctions, you must call 243-5493 to increase your bid on presented items.
When pre-bidding, you must specify your opening bid. No bid less than the stated minimum bid will be accepted. All bidding will be advanced by applicable increments until bidding has stopped or your reserve (maximum bid) has been surpassed.
Removal of Property
KIXE reserves the right to dispose of the property in any manner it deems appropriate if the successful bidder does not remove the property within the agreed-upon period of time. Items should be approved by the buyer before removal. Items are not returnable.
Packing for removal from the studio, by the high bidder, will be done by KIXE at the sole risk of the buyer.
