Job Title: Corporate Support Representative/Outside Sales 

Full time (Exempt)

Wage:  $17 per hour plus Commission. 

KIXE PBS, public television serving the beautiful far Northeastern region of California, seeks an experienced and energetic Corporate Support Representative to join our Development team. This position works to secure essential financial support for KIXE PBS television programs, special events and station initiatives.  KIXE PBS has a long history of quality programs both local and national – examples include Masterpiece, Antiques Roadshow, PBS KIDS, Finding Your Roots and PBS Newshour. 

 The right candidate for this position will have sales experience and a strong belief in the value of public broadcasting and community service. This position allows for freedom and self-guidance within a top tier work culture. Compensation is a base wage plus commission with the potential for quarterly bonuses based upon predetermined sponsorship goals. This position will remain open until filled.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the KIXE PBS broadcast schedule, local and regional productions, outreach and development efforts.
  • Develop a firm understanding of public media underwriting requirements established by the FCC, CPB, PBS and station mandate.
  • Develop project packages that will result in increased funding for KIXE PBS and help corporate funders better meet their marketing objectives
  • Create effective proposals integrating sales and marketing tools.
  • Maintain database of current and prospective clients
  • Maintain regular communication and correspondence with client base.
  • Work directly with the production and traffic teams as central liaison between client and the KIXE PBS staff in creating and airing effective underwriting spots.
  • Summarize and report significant client information.
  • Work closely with membership, marketing, and content creation teams.
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
  • Secure and manage trades with local business community.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 

  • High School Diploma AND related work experience –
  • Experience with non-profit fundraising, sponsorship, or development is beneficial.
  • Experience with successfully coordinating large projects.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with various computer software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative multiplatform culture and environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and work self-sufficiently with little direction when required.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Valid state driving license with clean driving record and insurance
