KIXE TV PBS in Redding has an immediate opening for Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a fun and rewarding part-time job. This position is 24 hours per week, at $16.00 per hour to start. Duties include planning and conducting outreach and special events for the station, and managing our station’s volunteers. Work hours would primarily be weekdays; however, some evening and weekend assignments are required.
The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, well-organized, and enjoys working with children and seniors. This position requires a background check, valid CA Driver’s License, proof of automobile insurance, and a clean driving record. The ability to stand, sit, and travel for extended periods, as well as bend and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds also required. EOE.

About the Role:
KIXE PBS is seeking a creative individual with video production experience. The position is responsible for developing, researching, formatting, writing, planning, assembling, producing and directing for KIXE PBS’ multiple platforms. Stories are produced both in studio and in the field. An ideal candidate should have experience in camera operation, editing, writing and be familiar with proper audio and lighting.
Candidate will be required to work independently and within a group collaborative setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use Electronic Field Production gear.
- Writing Scripts and rundowns.
- Video Editing
- Assists in the preparations, set-up production of and the teardown of remote productions.
- Works crew positions on studio and remote productions.
- Assist production in design, construction, lighting, and set-up of studio sets
- Assists and executes special pledge related events
- Works with traffic to schedule related promos and underwriting spots
- Line producing of local programs
- Assists in training volunteers.
- Work with commercial clientele in the field and in post-production.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education:
A Degree or certificate in video production or related field or the equivalent professional experience is required.
Experience:
Ability to edit video and audio material. Ability to work on short and long form video projects. Problem solving and storytelling are essential qualifications.
Technical Skills:
Creation of online video content; Familiarity with social media; Familiar with cameras and capturing creative and interesting audio-visuals; Proficiency in Premiere and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Additional Requirements.
Ability to Lift 50 pounds
Valid state driving license with clean driving record and insurance
